So, I’ve decided to put some life updates up periodically since life keeps getting in the way of writing.
I have been in the hospital since 4/20. Went in with a painful lump on my arm and had to have emergency surgery due to it being septic shock and necrotizing fasciitis, a rare flesh eating bacteria that somehow got under my skin. They were able to save my arm (and my life), but 6 hours more and I would’ve been dead.
Now we are awaiting the healing process, which will likely require at least 2 more surgeries, one of which possibly being a skin graft. I should have the option of a cadaver donation or a section of skin from my thighs, in which case I will choose the cadaver donation.
Trying to keep occupied has been a challenge but I’m working towards the app review series. Not sure if I’ve mentioned it yet here, but I am reviewing low-no cost apps ($10 or less if I can help it) that may be helpful to disabled people, both with visible and invisible disabilities. There is a large number of categories, and so far I’ve finished the reviews for medication reminders and trackers, as well as symptom trackers. I’ve found some interesting hidden gems that I’m excited to show you all! It still may be a few weeks due to the volume of apps to be sifted through (there are over 100 total I’ve got to explore) but it will be worth the wait.
I plan to do life updates when something big happens or there’s a justifiable reason for me to be late on posts and I want to explain myself, so they won’t be regular by any means, but I hope this and others will give a small glimpse into my daily life. Thanks everyone for your understanding. ❤
